Arrive at MTC

Anna:

They made it to the MTC!  First picture is of them first driving up to the MTC.  Then the 2nd picture is the famous wall map picture!.....with their name badges on!  Now, they are real, official missionaries!  

Leaving Home

Anna: 

This morning I woke the boys up early and went and got doughnuts and balloons to see Mom & Dad off from their house to the MTC.  It was great to see them one last time.  Mom & Dad sure look excited to go.  They are so ready, prepared and anxious to have this new adventure.  

Setting Apart

Anna:

Sunday evening Mom & Dad got set apart to be missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  The Stake President talked to us before a little bit about what it means to be set apart.  He related it to Jake's nice, fancy, loved skis.  Does Jake just throw the skis on the floor or leave them outside at night?  No, he sets them in a special place so they don't get exposed to the dirt and mud.  Just like the skis, Mom and Dad are rising above the dirt and mud.  They are raised to a higher level.

They are also given special keys to be missionaries.  So those keys are given to them during their setting apart.

Great blessings were granted to them.

Weekend before leaving

Anna:

Mom and Dad's last weekend before heading on their mission.  Bryan and I and the boys took them out to some local favorites.  Fredrico's Pizza and Charlie's Ice Cream.  It was great to spend time with them!
